So your motor is limited to a peak of 1490 watts. This is where you have to be careful as a number of e-bike motors are sold not at peak rating but at their sustainable rate. That 1000w rated motor might actually be capable of 2000w and be a violation.

Size: Some electric bikes look a little small, but if you’re going to drive to the edge of the city and ride the last couple of miles, a light, folding model that you can easily throw in the trunk has definite advantages.

We are regular riders and chose to ride e-bikes and felt it was the best decision we could have made. Because of the size of the group there were extra e-bikes available and three others in the group switched after day one. The e-bike made the uphills no more challenging than our rides back in New England. The long switchback filled downhills were a total delight as the BionX system allows you to shift into negative power and like a car in first gear, holds you back with minimal braking. We got to sit back and enjoy the view!

The Propella E-Bike is an e-bike we haven’t written much about yet but are currently testing it for CleanTechnica. This is one very sweet e-bike. What makes it really stand out is that it doesn’t feel like an e-bike. Most e-bikes feel like electric bicycles. The Propella feels like a normal bicycle that just happens to have an electric motor.
